Nest

Terms of Service

Effective July 24, 2026

These terms cover your use of Nest — the outliner at notes.nixx.co and the Nest iOS app. They're short because the product is small and yours.

The service

Nest is a personal, single-user outliner: you sign up with an email address and a password, and you get a private outline that syncs across your devices. Nest is provided free of charge, as-is, by a solo, open-source project.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything done under your account.
• One account is for one person. There is no sharing, collaboration, or multi-user access by design.
• Personal access tokens you generate grant full access to your outline — treat them like passwords and revoke any you no longer use.

Your content

Everything you write in Nest remains yours. We claim no ownership of and no license to your content beyond what's technically necessary to store it, index it for your own search, and show it back to you. You can export it (plain text or JSON) or permanently delete it at any time — see the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use Nest to break the law, to store content you have no right to hold, or to attack the service itself (probing, scraping other accounts, or disrupting availability). That's it.

Availability and warranty

Nest is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It's a solo-run service: there is no SLA, and downtime or data loss, while worked hard against, can happen. Export regularly if your outline matters to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for it — which is zero.

Termination

You can stop using Nest and delete your account at any time. The operator may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or endanger the service, and may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, during which export remains available.

Changes

If these terms change, the effective date above will change with it. Material changes will be noted in the project's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
